Vintage 1950's Vogue GINNY 7 1/2" Straight Leg Walking (SLW) Brunette Doll with Original Tagged Brownie Outfit
Ginny doll has molded eyelashes, brunette hair, blue eyes, painted lips and hair glued to her head. When you move her legs to walk her head turns from side to side. There are no chips or cracks to her. A few tiny marks/scratches on face (photo 9). She has sleepy eyes but they don't open and close on their own when I lay her down and stand her up. I can open them when I use my fingernail however. Her clothing consists of the her coat, belt, underpants and a hat. Her coat has 2 snaps and her belt has one which they all work properly. The elastic in the underpants is a little stretched/dry rotted. The felt brown hat has some missing felt/tears at the one edge (photo 10). No other holes, tears or stains. The coat has tag marked Vogue Dolls Inc.
She is marked on the back of her head VOGUE. Marked on her back GINNY Vogue Doll Inc. PAT NO. 2687594 Made in USA.
I have not attempted to wash the clothing or comb her hair which has some frizz.
We normally do not know the history of the items we sell but this particular doll belongs to a friend of ours and this was her doll when she was younger.
We buy most of our pieces at auctions, flea markets & yard sales so we many not know the history of the item. We are not antique dealers, collectors or experts. We describe the item along with any flaws & markings we can find the best we can.
