Do you love the Debutante Series Vogue strung Ginny dolls that were offered in 1953 and are looking for the often sought after Debutante Cathy,  but already have a doll you were thinking of dressing and hoped to find a nice outfit; than this may work for you.  Still retains a nice light pale mint green color and nice accessories pieces like purse and shoes, etc.   Here is an opportunity to have your Ginny Debutante Cathy outfit to dress your favorite doll that has been waiting.
We are offering an excellent plus Cathy outfit from the 1953 series of outfits/dressed dolls Vogue offered that year; was also offered as a boxed outfit.  This outfit has been gently used.  Included is the dress, hat, correct factory issued white panties, floral decorated purse, pink rayon factory socks and black center snap shoes.  This complete outfit is in very good or better  condition overall, in our opinion.  Hopefully our description and photos help to show how nice it is in person.  Some photos may show it lighter and brighter, others not the right color tone.   The dress is a very pretty light green organdy  with multi-color dots scattered about with lace trim around collar and hemline.  Dress is decorated with the same flowers found on the original hat and purse.  Original black ribbon trim at waist that can be tied in a long bow in front or tied around, still in nice condition.  The same ribbon Vogue used for a black bow which holds the flowers at hemline.  There are no nips or breaks to the hat, the ribbon and tulle type trim around the hat has come loose from the staple in back as originally stapled on; staple is still there but as you can see it stays on fine; original flowers are stapled on the hat.  No tears, no repairs to the dress or panties and no stains.  Panties have nice elastic stretch in waist and legs and are the
correct white organdy panties as issued
(both as a dressed doll and also a boxed outfit).  Those of you who have or have had a mint in box doll or outfit know that Vogue issued some of their outfits with the white organdy panties under the dress as they did in this case.    Most likely  (just a thought by several long time collectors) Vogue did not have the exact matching  green organdy fabric without the polka dots  to coordinate and match in color and probably the fuzzy dot fabric of the dress was not workable for the panties or they had limited supply.  So, they came up using the basic white organdy for the panties that would work.  The black center snap oil cloth shoes are excellent with good attachments and no repairs.  Nice vintage rayon pink socks that bring out some of the pink from this outfit are included; a nice contrast.    The sweet purse with the same flowers as on the dress and hat decorate the purse; all flowers on all the pieces retain really nice coloring too and are factory Vogue.  Outfit is tagged and is clean,  fresh and retains nice body to the fabric.  Fabric is strong with no browning, no tears and no splitting.  Outfit is so pretty and in gently used/played with condition,  not abused and ready to put on a really nice doll to show it off.  So, if you love this outfit and have a special doll to wear it or just like to keep it in your saved outfits for when the right doll comes along, this may be for you; factory issued and ready to be shown off by a special doll.
