We are offering a strung Vogue Ginny doll from 1952 that you don't see offered too often; she is in very nice overall condition with a few things we will note in our Details. She is from the Debutante Series of dolls named Pamela #60 from 1952. You rarely see her offered in any condition, but although the one we are offering here is not perfect, she is a pretty example with a few things we will point out in the detailed description so you can decide if she is one that works for you. Her beautiful organdy embroidered white on white dress with taffeta attached under slip that is the same as the waist and straps of the outfit & matching original taffeta panties and her fancy plumed hat really shows off her outfit. A pretty doll ready to find a new home .
DETAILS
Pamela is wearing her factory original complete outfit tagged Vogue. She is a very pretty tosca redhead strung doll with excellent coloring and visible tosca brows and lashes. No rubs to her factory cheek coloring. She has the pretty somewhat desirable brown eyes that do need assistance to open and close which is common and acceptable to most collectors. No scrapes to the eyes or lids. Pamela has
no touchups
,
no restyling of hair
and
no repro parts or pieces
. She is hard plastic, marked on her back Vogue Doll and appears to have been restrung, so now she can be on display without worrying about her falling apart from aged and loose rubber band stringing. Pamela's hair is full with no bald spots. There are the typical stray hairs which is common for a doll that has not had their hair smoothed and restyled. This beautiful hard plastic 8" Ginny has no cracks, splits or repairs. She comes to you wearing her organdy white on white embroidered dress with taffeta attached under slip and floral decoration on strap and then one running down from waist on one side as factory issued
.
Dress is tagged (see photo); original and not altered or had any replacement fabric. The flower decoration is original and does shoe a bit of age wear but still displays nicely. The taffeta of the under slip and the matching panties most likely have mellowed to a blue lavender and not as blue as it was one newly made; very typical of the taffeta's in the blue colors to do this and as you can see she still very pretty. We do think Vogue tried various taffeta fabric suppliers as there are variations that have been seen (different shades) and some have not changed. Fortunately this appears to have changed evenly so presents nicely overall in our opinion. From the looks of the tag we don't think the dress was washed, but if it was it was done nicely and hard to tell. It should be noted that there is an area by very edge almost at the edge of the hemline of the organdy over skirt that shows a tiny separation (see pictures, hard to see even in pictures) maybe 1/2" or less where the organdy has separated and we noticed this upon very close inspection. Most may not even see this to mention. We don't think it needs anything done to it as it isn't something you see with the naked eye
. We see no others, but care should always be taken with these vintage organdy fabrics, no other issues and we carefully checked the organdy. I would imagine the fabric may be a little more fragile if pulled at or handled a lot due to age, unlike cottons that seem to hold up well to age. No browning to organdy. Not snow white but white. Panties have good elastic in waist and legs and stay up fine; original to this outfit and a match. Her center snap oil cloth shoes and socks are very nice with strong snap attachments; sort of an antique blue; some blues look darker or brighter than in person, smooth soles. No repairs to shoes and snaps work fine. Her open crowned scalloped hat still retains the original matching flowers, excellent overall. If you want a pretty doll and don't have to have mint, then she may be for you.

We may not be fully knowledgeable in all vintage collectibles & all types of dolls, but do have expertise in some areas. We strongly encourage questions and welcome any add'l details on an item that may be helpful to others too. We do detailed descriptions & offer lots of photos, but we count on the bidders/buyers to contact us with any concerns or request for additional details about a specific item being offered so that your experience is a positive one from start-to-finish.
There may be slight variations in the color shades of items as it is hard sometimes to capture the true color in the photos or scans, but if any, it would only be slight and most items are nicer than photos show. We are not professional photographers nor have vast knowledge in all the newest technology. Please contact us with questions in case we missed something important to you as "all sales are final, no returns" unless we have grossly misrepresented an item. Must be contacted immediately upon receipt to discuss. Please bear in mind that these are vintage items and made as play things, over 50 years old (most) and some older (antique) so there may be some flaws in the making as many things may have been hand done and/or machine made or a combination. We do our best to provide lots of photos and specific condition issues too.
