We are offering a sweet early painted eye hard plastic 8" Vogue Ginny doll from 1949-50 that appears to be a
never played with, lovingly owned doll
.  She is "Laury" but was also offered as a Easter Holiday Special doll (Vogue just added a little chick to wrist) to help promote sales; good company strategy.  They would use some of their dolls that were named dolls and just add an accessory piece like a chick for Easter with some of the pastel outfits or a shamrock or an "I Love You" plastic heart  for St.
Patrick's or Valentine's day.

We think she is much prettier in person than our photos may show but please take a look at all our photos and see if she may appeal to you and be one you might enjoy.
Details
Laury is a sweet & complete  factory original doll that comes to you wearing her crisp, clean yellow taffeta tagged (ink spot tag) outfit.    She is Laury #8-16C from the painted eye group 1949-50.  She has visible brows & lashes and the typical color of the early painted eye dolls.    Any lines on her face you may see are stray hairs, very typical of these early mohair wigs and ones that have not been restyled.  She is hard plastic and marked on her back Vogue Doll with jointed arms and legs & neck.  She has no visible cracks or repairs and all fingers are present with no breaks; nice pink body tone.   NO hair restyling; her blonde mohair factory wig is nice and retains most of the original set other than maybe being slightly flat in the back from being stored away all these years.  Bangs are a little choppy not straight across like the later dolls; just the way they were finished by the factory.  She still retains the rubber band that went around her head after Vogue applied her wig.  We'll leave that up to the new owner if they desire to remove; there is no obvious residue in the hair as the band is still in place.
There are NO spots, tears, or repairs, no fading to her outfit! Color is bright, clean & crisp (see photos).  Outfit has NEVER been washed, steamed or ironed (ironing tends to ruin taffeta and you can tell; generally the hemline is very sharp/flat).  Elastic in panties (waist and legs) is excellent.  Center snap oil cloth shoes show some minor wear but snaps are holding fine with no repairs; color now has creamed a bit, smooth soles, with a couple of tiny scuffs on bottom; perfect original yellow rayon vintage Vogue socks.  She appears to have been restrung as is more typical than not due to old rubber band stringing drying and sometimes breaking.  Now she can pose without worrying about her falling apart while on display.    This doll is a very pretty example of an early painted eye doll that has not been on display or played with, crisp and bright outfit.  A doll that can bring sunshine into your home and be enjoyed by everyone while on display.

If you have been wanting a special doll for your collection or a gift for a loved one this certainly may be one you might want to consider.  She has a lot going for her and is looking for a new home.
