Description
This painted eye beauty is from 1949; prior to Vogue naming the dolls made in the same mold for the next several years GINNY. These painted eye beauties were among the first hard plastic dolls Vogue made. She is a member of the Toddlers Dainty Afternoon Dresses Series and is Trudy #8-3C. This sweet pre-Ginny has side glancing hand painted eyes, her original brunette mohair side part flip wig in good original condition, and a wonderful early body. She poses easily and is an excellent doll. The Trudy outfit consists of a pink window-pane dimity dress trimmed with lace and ribbon. Matching dimity bloomers are a bit stretched out but still stay up. The pink color is a bit faded but it still has fairly good crispness. Under her dress is a newer gauze lace trimmed slip. On her feet are pink greek key center snap shoes and pink socks. On her head is the correct matching bonnet trimmed with lace blue ribbon, tying under her chin with blue ribbon. You can see a similar doll in the same outfit on page 14 of the first edition of the Clark reference. The dress retains its original folded wavy tag in the back waist seam, indicating its year.
She’s a beauty; thank you for looking!
