VINTAGE 1970s JAPAN CHIQUITA BANANA INFLATABLE BLOW-UP GROCERY DISPLAY POP ART

Description

This is a TRUE vintage inflatable or "blow-up" Banana. This may have been a grocery store display, or perhaps just sold as "Pop Art" in the early to mid 1970's. This GIANT banana measures between 43 & 44 inches long. (Over 3 & 1/2 feet!) Over the years, there have been a few variations of inflatable Chiquita Bananas. I believe this is one of the earliest examples. First - it is marked: "MADE IN JAPAN" by the inflation stem. Second - the Chiquita advertising character, on the blue label, is the old BANANA shaped version. (Some time ago, it was changed to a PERSON / WOMAN, instead of an anthropomorphic banana, as seen on this.) Third - this example is NOT marked: ""NOT TO BE USED AS A LIFE PRESERVER." This item is in GOOD condition. IT DOES NOT LEAK. It has some scattered stains here & there. Some of the stains are pink, others are dark marks. As a whole, it displays pretty nicely - but the stains are clearly visible. This item is guaranteed to be old & original - made over 40 years ago - or your money back.
