I normally just sharpen the wheels but I wanted one to press a waist in the tube, not cut it, so I needed a sacrificial wheel. It's two wheels in the pack btw, which was a bonus since I thought it was for one.If anyone is interested I'm using it for quick connects on RO water and air lines. Those normally use 1/4" plastic tubing and have little teeth inside that dig into the plastic but can't dig into steel. I want to use stainless tubing on many of the fittings so the fix is to make a groove in the tube for those teeth to fall into and lock it in place. A cutting wheel that has been dulled to a wider rounded edge works great. Prior to this I was using a Dremel cutting disc to make a groove, but that's a time consuming pita.Stainless steel tubing advantages include: Larger ID for better flow. You can remove from the quick fitting without damage because the teeth often scrape up the plastic tubing causing leaks on next use. You can use compression fittings with the steel, if needed, where if used on plastic tube it would only reduce the ID even further. TMI no doubt but useful to someone.
