1938 R. ESTERBROOK CO. #369 MARITIME FOUNTAIN PEN TIPS, LOT OF 114 SPECIAL BOX VERY RARE. All pen tips are unused, a box has splits and wear. They are very desirable and rarely seen in the box. If you can find them in the box it is a regular red Esterbrook box. This box is the first issue special box. I have never seen it before.
The box lid has small repairs on the corner splits.
A flaring pen with the flare sweeping over the shoulders to the tip. A sharp tip and a rectangular vent hole. Gray finish.
This pen shape is seen in later pen offerings including the Penesco and Radio series. In general, cosmetic changes were made or improvements made in production and materials as with the Radio pens. Otherwise, this was like General Motors coming out with a new model ... marketing.
A surprisingly good writer.
